Or pretty little blankets. Colcha is the Spanish word for blanket or coverlet. It's the closest word for quilt and the one I have most commonly heard. A colchita is a blanket or a little quilt. A colchera is a quilter.

Tea Garden


I think I will use the fat quarter bundle set of Tea Garden from Dena Designs for Free Spirit/Westminster for this quilt. I bought it on sale but with no real plan or justification- just plain ole' lust. I hope 24 fat quarters will do it. It's a nice cool color palette with painterly prints. Paired with a warm grey and some white perhaps?
