Or pretty little blankets. Colcha is the Spanish word for blanket or coverlet. It's the closest word for quilt and the one I have most commonly heard. A colchita is a blanket or a little quilt. A colchera is a quilter.

Glue basting



I learned a wonderful and easy way to bast quilts from Vickie- glue basting. Just using washable glue sticks. Dab the glue stick on the back fabric, place it on top of the batting and touch the iron all over to stick. Dab the glue stick on the front fabric, place on top of the batting and touch the iron all over. Easy peasy. I will try it on my next quilts.
