Colchitas...Colcheras...Colchas...all things quilts


Or pretty little blankets. Colcha is the Spanish word for blanket or coverlet. It's the closest word for quilt and the one I have most commonly heard. A colchita is a blanket or a little quilt. A colchera is a quilter.

Quilting lesson

I had a quilting lesson with Vickie West in Round Rock, TX on my trip to Austin. My mother and I spent Friday (2/10/12) at her home learning about machine quilting and using her long arm. It was a fabulous lesson. I can't wait for another when I go back to Texas in May.
